The Central Election Commission (CEC) approved the nomination of one more person for the presidency.
Publika.az CEC secretary Arife Mukhtarova informed about this.
After discussions, the issue of approving the nomination of Avaz Babirkhan oghlu Temirkha, whose candidacy was nominated by himself, was put to a vote and accepted.
With this, the number of persons whose candidacy for the presidency has been approved has reached 17.
It should be noted that on December 19, the CEC approved the nomination of Ilham Aliyev for the presidency by the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. Ilham Aliyev’s candidacy for the presidency was registered at the CEC meeting held on December 30.
Earlier, at the CEC meeting held on December 21, Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, who were nominated by him, Fazil Mustafa, the presidential candidate of the Great Establishment Party, Elshad Musayev, the presidential candidate of the Great Azerbaijan Party, Gudrat Hasanguliyev, the presidential candidate of the All-Azerbaijan Popular Front Party, National The nomination of Razi Nurullayev, the presidential candidate of the Front Party, has been confirmed.
At the CEC meeting held on December 26, the issue of approving the candidacy of Sarvan Karimov, Matlab Mutallimli, Abutalib Samadov, Fikret Yusifov, Yusif Bagyrzadeh, Arzuman Abdulkerimov, Yunus Oguz and Gulamhuseyn Alibeyli, who were nominated by himself, was put to a vote. On December 30, candidate Heydar oghlu Safarov confirmed his candidacy.
It should be noted that extraordinary presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan on February 7, 2024.
