ASSUMPTION. The National Directorate of Health Surveillance (Dinavisa) issued an alert about the detection of counterfeit units of the drug Opdivo/injectable solution (Nivolumab), coming from Bristol Myers Squibb Laboratories in Colombia. These counterfeit products are reportedly circulating in the country with lot numbers ACE2594 and ACG0770.

The product in question is a 100mg/10ml injectable solution, with Health Registration No. MB-000025-0 in Paraguay. The Dinavisa alert urges the population to be attentive and report any discovery of these lots via email. [email protected].

The warning is based on a communication issued by the Directorate of Medicines and Biological Products of the National Institute for Surveillance of Medicines and Biological Products of the National Institute of Surveillance and Food -INVIMA of Colombia, dated March 22, 2024, where it was alerted about the falsification of this medicine.

The differences between the counterfeit product and the approved and registered original are notable in their presentation and characteristics. These include discrepancies in the concentration letter on the primary packaging, grammatical errors in the name of the manufacturing laboratory “Manabí” on the vials, as well as differences in the font size of the vials, among others, according to the warning.

Dinavisa emphasizes the importance of not consuming this counterfeit medicine and asks the population to collaborate in identifying and reporting its illegal marketing.
