It is possible to talk about easier communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan only after the principles of unblocking communications are agreed.
Publika.az Armen Grigoryan, Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia, told journalists about this.
“The position of Armenia remains unchanged: any unblocked infrastructure should be under the jurisdiction of this country and remain within its sovereignty. The opening of the blocks should be carried out on the basis of the principles of equality and reciprocity. These are the main principles within the framework of the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict. We are ready to organize the opening of regional communications,” Grigoryan said.
According to him, Armenia will continue to work on the opening of communications within the framework of the “Crossroads of the World” project proposed by the prime minister.
According to the secretary of the Security Council, peace and stability will be established in the region if the infrastructure is unblocked based on these principles.
“In order to ensure stability in the region, it is also necessary to work on a peace agreement,” said Grigoryan.
And in this regard, according to him, it is very important that the positions of Iran and Armenia coincide.
As for the possibility of facilitated communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhchivan insisted by Baku, as the Secretary of the Security Council noted, these are technical details and can be discussed after the above-mentioned principles are agreed upon.
Armen Grigoryan noted that Azerbaijan agreed with them during the discussions, and the Armenian official expects Baku to do so openly.
