Husband Abdul Hamid has been accused of killing his wife Tashlima Akhtar (20) in Akhaura Upazila of Brahmanbaria. In the preliminary interrogation of the police, the police have accepted the responsibility of killing the wife. Deceased Tashlima is the younger daughter of deceased Abdur Razzak of Basudev village in Basudev union of Sadar upazila and the newly married wife of Saudi expatriate Abdul Hamid of Hirapur Madhyapara of Akhaura.

The police, BGB and relatives of the deceased said that Tashlima got married to Abdul Hamid, a Saudi expatriate, on a mobile phone seven to eight months ago. Hamid recently came to the country on vacation. Last Friday, the two families completed the marriage ceremony of Hamid and Tashlima. On that day, the bride was taken to her in-laws’ house. In the meantime, on Tuesday afternoon, suddenly there was an argument between husband and wife. At one point he stabbed and killed. In other words, after four days of marriage, he was murdered.

Meanwhile, Abdul Qudduch, the brother of the deceased, went to his sister’s in-laws house on Tuesday afternoon after receiving the news of the incident. Seeing the bloody body of his sister, he tried to arrest the sister-in-law at that time. At that time, Hamid also stabbed him and fled from the scene.

Abdul Quddus, the brother of the deceased, told reporters that Hamid’s younger sister got married on a mobile phone while he was abroad. The two families completed the marriage ceremony last Friday. I sent my sister to her husband’s house. I don’t know if there was any trouble in between. Seeing the dead body of the sister, when the sister-in-law tried to arrest her, she ran away with a knife. I want justice for killing my sister.

Meanwhile, he was arrested by the Akhaura Police Station after he was detained by the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) while trying to escape to India through the Hirapur Baramura border of South Union of Akhaura Upazila on Wednesday afternoon.

The police say that after the arrest, the husband Abdul Hamid claimed during the police interrogation that his wife used to watch Tik Tok on her mobile phone. He was suspicious of his wife as she was chatting with another boy. A dispute arose between the husband and wife. In the meantime, when Tashlima wanted to go to her father’s house on the morning of the incident, she was not allowed to go. He planned to kill his wife from these incidents. As part of this, he bought a knife from the market at noon on the day of the incident and returned home. At one point in the afternoon, Bagbitanda hit his wife’s throat, stomach and left hand with a knife. Tashlima’s wife died on the spot.

About the incident, 25 BGB (Sarail) battalion captain Lt. Colonel Arman Arif said that the BGB members on patrol arrested the accused while trying to cross the border area around 10:30 am on Wednesday. Later he was handed over to Akhaura police station.

Akhaura Police Station Inspector (Investigation) Shafiqul Islam told reporters that the victim’s brother Abdul Quddus filed a murder case at Akhaura Police Station as a plaintiff. Abdul Hamid, the deceased’s husband, was made the main accused in the case. Some unknown accused have been made in the case. During preliminary interrogation, he confessed to the police about killing his wife. He was sent to the district jail by the court.
