RAB has arrested six persons, including the director of a private development organization (NGO) named Dolphin Saving and Credit Cooperative Society Limited, who went missing with nearly 20 crore rupees saved by customers in Naogaon.

Abdur Razzaq, director of the NGO, planned to flee to Dubai. But in the meantime, he was caught by RAB.

Abdur Razzak was arrested in a joint operation of RAB-5 and RAB-11 in Tarab bus stand area of ​​Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj on Sunday (February 18) morning. After that, the remaining five people were arrested from different areas of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. Later in the afternoon in the meeting room of Naogaon Circuit House, the captain of RAB-5 Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous gave this information in a press conference.

The arrested are Abdur Razzak, director of Dolphin Savings and Credit Cooperative Society Limited, his wife Sumi Begum, company president Pear Ali and his wife Shilpi Begum (Abdur Razzak’s sister), manager Atwar Rahman and cashier Ripon.

In the press conference, RAB-5 captain Lieutenant Colonel Munim Ferdous said that Abdur Razzak, the son of Nasir Uddin, the son of Nasir Uddin of the same village, established a private company named Dolphin Saving and Credit Cooperative Society Limited after registering from the cooperative in Fatepur Bazaar of Naogaon Sadar Upazila in 2013. Where he was conducting fixed deposit and small savings program by taking money from simple people of different villages. He used to pay 2 to 2.5 thousand rupees per lakh to the customers.

But for the last few months, Razzak started to complain without giving profit to the customers. Suddenly on January 20, director Abdur Razzak and others disappeared with around Tk 20 crore after the organization stopped its activities. The matter came to RAB’s attention after the publication of reports in various media. Then their movements are secretly monitored.

The RAB official said that Abdur Razzak was supposed to flee to Dubai on February 24. He was arrested with the help of RAB-11 from Tarab Bus Stand of Rupganj Police Station in Narayanganj on Sunday morning. After that, the remaining five people were arrested from different areas of Sadar Upazila. The arrested have been handed over to Naogaon Sadar police station.
