“We in the Lodge will give everything we have and don’t have for the social rights of the citizen” says Thanasis Papageorgiou right from the start, explaining the decision to allocate to the Association of Relatives of Victims of Tempo 2023 the proceeds of the performance “My Mother’s Occupation” on Friday March 8 (8.30pm).

For the well-known director, actor and soul of the Stoa Theater, “a spiritual organization, such as the theater, is obliged to participate in such big issues that concern society in general and society in particular. We demand that justice be served, we demand that the truth shine, and we demand that all those irresponsibles who rule our lives be punished. What we do is the least we can do as citizens, but as artists our function on the stage, in the theater, in the cinema, on television is our only weapon. We join our voice with all those who are made to feel by the system that they have no rights in this society, that they are pawns in this society and that our lives have absolutely no value. We in the Lodge will give everything we have and don’t have for the social rights of the citizen”.

Among the leading theater people, an artist with a clear voice in the public sphere and a particular sensitivity to the social and political issues of the place, Th. Papageorgiou and the Stoa proceeded with this decision “as a minimal participation in the struggle” of the Association of Relatives of Tempo Victims 2023. “The the least we can offer to your fight for your absolute vindication is the proceeds of a performance that we will offer to your fund as a small subscription, so that you can continue, to the extent that you will be allowed, your effort” he underlines.
