The members of the Greek delegation gave a warm welcome to Emmanuel Karaliswhen he returned to the hotel after winning the bronze medal at the World Indoor Championships in Glasgow.
Athletes and coaches had hidden behind an event banner and when the 24-year-old pole vault champion arrived, they jumped for to hug him and congratulate him.
With a big hug and a special greeting, the “golden” Miltos Tedoglou welcomed his friend and fellow athlete. Coach Giorgos Pomaski also had a warm hug for Emmanuel Karalis.
Em. Karalis took for a while from the neck of his mother, Sarah, the medal to show it to the members of the expedition. After all, the 24-year-old athlete dedicated his success to her, stressing: “She was the only one who believed in me.”
