The mobile court fined two lakh taka to two soil traders for the crime of selling soil of agricultural land in Chatkhil of Noakhali.
The operation was conducted on Wednesday (April 24) at noon in South Ramnarayanpur Ward No. 6 and on Tuesday (April 23) in the afternoon at Bansa Bazar of Ward No. 2 of Mohammadpur Union. Chatkhil Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Sheikh Ehsan Uddin Mohammadpur and Assistant Commissioner (Lands) Akib Osman Ramnarayanpur conducted the operation.
Meanwhile, Abul Kalam (47) of South Ramnarayanpur and Harunur Rashid (42) of Mohammadpur were fined one lakh taka for cutting and selling agricultural land.
In this regard, Sheikh Ehsan Uddin told Jago News that for a long time, the criminals had been cutting and selling agricultural land, avoiding the eyes of the administration and law enforcement agencies. After receiving the complaint, the two accused have been warned with a fine of two lakh rupees. Such operations will continue in the future.
Mohammadpur Union Chairman Mehdi Hasan Bahalul, Union Bhumi Deputy Assistant Officer, UP member and local residents were present in the campaign. Apart from this, members of Chatkhil police station fully cooperated in running the mobile court.
