BERLIN – Some of the most powerful solar flares ever recorded have erupted fromSunus in the last few days, and everything is aimed right at Earth. These outbursts, classified as X1.3 and NOAA.
Each flare causes a blackout of radio waves on Earth, and there is the possibility of lasting effects if the flare is accompanied by a coronal mass ejection (CME) that ejects charged particles towards our planet.
Strong CMEs can cause a variety of disruptions to infrastructure on Earth, including power outages, disruption to navigation systems, and even damage to satellites.
