LR Teschl-Hofmeister: Awards continue the success story

St. Pölten (OTS) At last year’s farm fair in Wieselburg alone, the milk and cheese products from the Pyhra Agricultural College (LFS) were awarded nine medals, including three gold. The dark chocolate ice cream was even awarded the “Golden Stanitzel”. As a bonus, other ice cream flavors from the Perschlingtal won two gold and two silver medals. There was also gold and silver for the fruit yoghurt. But the technical school is also represented in the top ranks with its products when it comes to hard liquor. The raspberry liqueur was awarded the “Golden Stamperl” and the “Noble Drop”. We can look forward to the performance of the LFS Pyhra products at this year’s farm-gate trade fair, which takes place at the beginning of March.

“The Pyhra technical school has been at the top of competitions for years with its self-produced products. The awards impressively continue the success story and should be seen as recognition for the work done,” emphasizes State Councilor for Education Christiane Teschl-Hofmeister. “I congratulate the entire school team on these awards, which impressively confirm the high quality of rural craftsmanship. I wish LFS Pyhra all the best for its participation in this year’s farm-gate fair. “The students also benefit from the processing of agricultural products at such a high level,” said the state councilor.

“With a lot of enthusiasm, technical know-how and many years of experience, our teachers and employees succeed in creating true masterpieces of product refinement. They deserve a lot of thanks for that. Furthermore, the numerous awards are also an indicator of the high quality of training,” emphasizes director Josef Sieder.

“Specialization and the use of modern technologies in food production are advancing rapidly. In order to keep up with developments, well-trained specialists play a key role,” emphasize specialist teacher Martina Sieder and specialist teacher Leopold Stuphann. “In the three-year training branch ‘Food Technology’, students are optimally prepared for work in various areas of the food industry. Product refinement for agricultural direct marketing is becoming increasingly important,” say Sieder and Stuphann.
