The Malagasy Pro Padel Tour circuit tournament, “Orange MPPTour 50”, was a success this weekend. This took place at the Atema site in Antanimora and the Padel 57 site in Ambatobe.
The Orange MPPTour 50 highlighted padel on two sites: ATEMA and Padel 57, both for men and women, this weekend. The winners of the tournament thus won 50 points in the Malagasy Pro Padel Tour rankings. “The MPPT 50 is the smallest category of our tournaments with the 25, which allows participants to better integrate into the circuit before entering the higher categories. Nevertheless, we were pleasantly surprised by the level of the participants, which was impressive”, expresses Gary AH-WAYE, co-founder of the MPPTour. Note the opening of the ATEMA padel club at the start of the year near Antanimora. “The club is magnificent and its team is ultra talented. It’s an excellent setting for getting started with padel”he adds.
On the women’s side, the big winners of this weekend are Ramanantoanina Ravaka and Ramangasoavina Anjanoro, representatives of ATEMA, who beat the duo of Radilofe Sariaka and Rakotoarivony Mialy in two sets 4/2-4/2. The third place goes to the team composed of Ralaimanisa Miora and Andriamitantsoa Fabiola. Among the men, after an intense match, the pair Rakotoarivony Thierry and Ratsifandrihamanana Mamy Ialy won against Rakotonirina Paul and Tanjodray Angelo in two sets at a score of 2/4-5/4-4/0. Ratahina Ny Itokina and Randrianarivelo Steven won the petite finale. “Padel is really starting to gain momentum in Madagascar and its initiation is easier than that of tennis. We are very satisfied with the overall level and the increase in the number of members”, concludes Gary AH-WAYE. The next meeting for fans and fans of padel is scheduled for April 20 and 21 at Soavina Atmosphere for the Orange MPPT 100.
