The Lamako Padel Center in Ambatobe will host the third part of the Orange MPPTour 100, this weekend of March 9 and 10. This major tournament of padel will bring together a total of 72 players, including 48 men and 24 women. The particularity of this event lies in the fact that the five best men’s teams and the four best women’s teams will not be able to participate. “ An average of 180 points per team is required to be eligible for this third circuit, which logically excludes the highest ranked teams. This decision offers a field of choice and above all new contenders for the title, particularly among the ladies. Whatever happens, the winning team will be the first women’s team outside of the Robinson sisters who have dominated the circuit since August of last year », Explains Gary Ah-Waye, co-manager of the MPPTour.

For the men, 24 teams will be competing, headlined by Marchand Mathis-Moussadik Rizwane, favorite for victory, followed by Nantenaina Rakotobe-Eugenio Raniriharinosy and Sebastien Andriantsoa-Franck Ranaivoson. This competition therefore promises to be open and offers an opportunity for new faces to shine. “ It’s something that we wanted to create to democratize this sport of padel as much as possible. If the top five teams play all the time, there will be no new winners. Here, everyone will have a chance, which makes this tournament truly magnificent », Adds Gary Ah-Waye. On the women’s side, Rianja Rakotovao-Rajhonson Mialy is the favorite, but the tournament promises to be epic, offering an opportunity for a new team to appear on the Orange MPPTour 100 list.
