Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samant Lal Sen said to the medical students that it is as important as it is for you to become doctors in groups, it is much more important and important that you become honest, idealistic people and become good doctors. Millions of helpless people of the country are looking at your face. When a patient comes for treatment, that patient knows how important the doctor is to him. That is why I have given special emphasis to becoming good people and good quality doctors rather than increasing the number of doctors. Each of you must be honest people and good doctors.
On Wednesday (February 14) around 11 am, the health minister said this to the students present at the Saraswati Puja function organized by Dhaka Medical College Hospital Puja Committee as the chief guest.
Earlier, at 9 am, he visited the Pujamandap of Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery. After that, he visited the Pujamandap of Officers Club, Mintu Road, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Pujamandap.
Later in the afternoon, the minister appeared as the chief guest at the awarding of crests to the local Kriti students organized by the Pooja Committee of Baradeswari Kalimata Mandir at Sabuj Bagh Basabor in the capital. There he said, there was a time when no one exaggerated about religion in the country. Both Hindus and Muslims used to participate in each other’s religious festivals. Suddenly that beautiful culture of harmony is being tried by a special group to bring discord. But our current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina keeps saying one thing again and again, I am also saying – religion will be a festival for everyone. The conspiracy of the past to destroy our Bengali heritage and culture will no longer be tolerated.
Bardeswari Kalimata Puja Committee President and Sabuj Bagh Thana Awami League General Secretary, Ward No. 5 Councilor Chittaranjan Das presided over the event. Bangladesh Awami League organizing secretary Sujit Roy Nandi was present as a special guest in the event.
