Erlan Karin commented on the amendments on gambling business issues

State Advisor, Chairman of the Council on Youth Policy under the President of Kazakhstan Erlan Karin noted that the practical implementation of the initiatives put forward at the Third meeting of the National Kurultai continues, Liter.kz reports.

Today, in the first reading, the Mazhilis adopted legislative amendments on the issues of gambling, lotteries and lottery activities. These amendments were initiated by deputies after the Atyrau speech of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in which he outlined the five main social problems of modern society. In particular, in his speech at a meeting of the National Kurultai, the President noted that gambling addiction brings innumerable troubles, destroying thousands of families and pushing many people to commit crimes. Therefore, the head of state ordered the adoption of a law on combating gambling addiction by the end of the current session of Parliament and the development of a Comprehensive Plan to combat gambling addiction, Erlan Karin wrote in his Telegram channel.

He recalled that members of the National Kurultai and the Presidential Youth Policy Council, who were among the first to bring this issue into the public sphere, took an active part in the discussion of the bill.
