A doctor of palliative medicine told what visions and dreams come to dying people, Liter.kz reports with reference to Dailymail.

The Buffalo Hospice and Palliative Care Research Group has published a number of studies on the topic and documented more than 1,500 end-of-life events, many of which were recorded on video.

According to physician Christopher Kerr, at the end of life, patients usually have visions that help them come to terms with their life decisions – either through poignant memories or through a completely fantastic vision.

Christopher Kerr noted that patients often have dreams that leave them feeling “loved, reunited, reacquainted with their loved one.”

The doctor said that people with a criminal past have dreams about those events.

We had a guy in his 40s who spent most of his life in prison. He suffered from drug addiction and was dying of cancer. He had dreams, he joked, he was very cheerful… And then he started crying because he was having terrible dreams, he was stabbed with sharp things by the people he had hurt… and he broke down. But then, when he came out of this state, he asked to see his daughter, to whom he wanted to apologize. He then died peacefully,” Dr. Kerr said.

The researcher says that children’s visions differ from those of adults because they lack many years of life experience. They understand death less, so they find solace through imagination.

The doctor notes that children may not have the experience of losing loved ones in their lives. Therefore, they have no one to imagine who will meet them in the afterlife. Therefore, children often imagine animals that will let them know that they are loved and not alone.
