After that, the Sylhet Strikers sent a press release to the media and officially expressed their regret. There they wrote, ‘An unexpected incident happened with Samit Patel, the foreign cricketer of the team, during an interview with a media person during the morning practice of Sylhet Strikers at Zahoor Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Sylhet Strikers manager Nafees Iqbal and the team’s media and commercial manager Minhaj Uddin Khan immediately took steps to resolve the issue.
