The Chilean Navy announced the extension of the curfew in the areas affected by the devastating fires that have hit several communes in the Valparaíso Region. According to what was communicated by the military institution through Band No. 24 published on its social networks, this measure will remain in force until Sunday, March 3 of this year.

The extension of the curfew applies specifically to the communes of Quilpué and Viña del Mar, where it will be in effect from 11:59 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. the next day, starting from February 28 to March 3. This announcement is made with the purpose of facilitating the work aimed at combating and overcoming the catastrophe declared by forest fires.

In addition to the curfew, it has been confirmed that the constitutional state of emergency will remain in force in the affected areas until April 3 of this year.

The Chilean Navy has urged the population to abide by these provisions, which seek to guarantee safety and facilitate emergency operations in the areas impacted by the fires.
