“Enter the Olympics. It is a matter of pride, an achievement and encouragement too. Because later (for) the next generation it will be motivation, inspiration. Our brothers can do it, why can’t we? “That’s what we want to encourage,” said the Vice President in his statement, quoted on Sunday (5/5/2024).
Therefore, the Vice President again asked the entire Indonesian nation to continue to provide support and prayers for the U-23 National Team which will play a tough match against the African Representative, Guinea. “(Please) pray that this time you can enter the Olympics, you’ve never done that before. That’s why we pray,” he said.
The Vice President also highlighted the Indonesian National Team’s match against Iraq in the race for third place in the 2024 U-23 Asian Cup. According to him, Indonesia was actually able to match Iraq’s game, but lost due to luck and fatigue.
“I don’t think Iraq actually lost, it was just unlucky. Because the game is actually a draw, right? “According to the trainer, it was due to fatigue,” explained the Vice President.
“It doesn’t mean that you actually lost, but that you were tired. “This means that in terms of the game you don’t lose,” he continued.
For this reason, in the match against Guinea, the Vice President hopes that the Indonesian National Team will recover its stamina so that it can win the match. “We hope later [di babak] playoffs, hopefully because he is fitter, hopefully he will win the match,” he concluded.
