Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delmon Poultry Company, Abdul Rahman Muhammad Jamsheer, confirmed on the sidelines of the opening of the company’s new chick hatchery, that the company is proceeding with its development plans to increase its production capacity as one of the national companies working in the field of food security, by supplying the local market with fresh and frozen chicken, in addition to supplying the market with various feeds. Such as various types of chicken feed, cow feed, sheep feed, and others. In addition to the chicken slaughterhouse, the company owns a feed factory, as well as a hatchery for producing one-day-old chicks.
This came on the sidelines of the opening of the company’s new hatchery, yesterday, in the presence of the Minister of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture, Wael Nasser Al-Mubarak, and a group of dignitaries and interested parties.
Jashmeer expressed his pride and pride that “this hatchery was built with the efforts and self-financing of the company without borrowing from any party. We are also proud that the opening of the new hatchery coincides with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s celebrations of the National Charter and the directives of His Majesty the King, may God protect him and protect him, to contribute to achieving food security for the Bahraini citizen, which is “One of the sublime directives we receive from time to time from His Majesty, may God protect him.”
Jamsheer revealed their aspirations to build farms for breeding, which requires providing suitable land. According to what we have received, there are steps to provide land, and once that is done, we will in turn produce broiler chickens for the company. At the present time, the company depends on local breeders, and this is not enough to meet the market’s need. .
When asked by “Al-Bilad” whether there are any plans for the company to export abroad, especially with the launch of the company’s new hatchery, Jamsheer confirmed, “We are currently meeting the demand in the local market, but in the future we may work to expand the hatchery, and that depends on the increase in demand.”
He explained that the company, since its establishment four decades ago, is considered the first provider of fresh chicken in Bahrain, as its production increased from 15 thousand chickens per day until it reached 35 thousand chickens per day today with the opening of the new hatchery that was established according to the highest professional quality standards in the poultry industry in cooperation with one of the largest international companies. Specialized in this field is the Belgian company Petersim.
Jamsheer said that the company has begun steps to increase its production of one-day-old chicks to 12 million chicks per year currently, with the possibility of raising production to reach 14 million chicks per year later. It also recently opened a warehouse for frozen products after completing the project to develop the electrical power system in the chicken slaughterhouse. In Hamala, in reference to the completion of a number of important projects for the company, confirming the company’s move towards excellence in its production operations, relying on the Bahraini element distinguished by its efficiency and dedication to work, as the percentage of Bahrainization in the company reaches more than 97% of its cadres, and the company practically confirms the Bahrainization of its jobs in all production sites. In the same context, Jamsheer revealed that the company cooperates with approximately 18 Bahraini poultry breeders in a partnership contract, whereby the company provides them with one-day-old chicks in addition to the feed necessary for the breeding process, which the company produces in its feed factory from 100% plant materials. After several weeks, the company receives the entire production from the breeders. To prepare and package it and then supply the local market with these products, which is one of the most prominent areas of community partnership that the company pursues with the surrounding community, as this contract concluded between the company and the broiler chicken breeder is considered a successful cooperation and partnership with a number of Bahraini families working in the field of broiler chicken breeding. ; To provide fresh chicken in the Kingdom.
