The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delmon Poultry Company, Abdul Rahman Jamsheer, said that “Delmon Poultry” is waiting for “General Poultry” to determine the new share price, studies, etc. before the merger process.
He added to Al-Bilad that no time had been set for a response, leaving time open for responses in order to carefully consider all studies and technical matters.
He stressed that the final decision regarding the merger is in the hands of the shareholders, as Delmon Poultry Company is a joint stock company listed on the Stock Exchange of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and therefore the powers of the Board of Directors are by recommendation only, but the final decision is not theirs. He explained that the merger, in principle, is better for shareholders and better for food security in the Kingdom of Bahrain, but all of this will be determined by studies, as the presence of a strong company with a supporting company such as “Mumtalakat” is better than the presence of several separate companies working in this field.
Jamsheer stressed that the poultry sector can quickly achieve the levels required for food security in this aspect, noting that reducing farms stands as an obstacle to this expansion.
In response to the question of lands allocated for food security, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Delmon Poultry Company said: “We hope that it will increase. What currently exists is not enough, and we expect it to decrease.”
