Significant deficiencies observed in a number of pharmaceutical preparations in recent weeks. The phenomenon is not new, but it seems to have taken on significant dimensions already at the beginning of the year, with pharmacists and union bodies in the sector particularly highlighting the deficiencies that exist in preparations that are regularly used by patients and chronically ill. The problem, as they say, is found both in urban centers and in the Region, with pharmacy shelves emptying. The reasons for the disappearing preparations are varied and lie in the problems faced by the pharmaceutical market worldwide, the increased demand of the winter season, the medicines that are imported into Greece but then “leave” as exports, as well as the policy followed by the competent authorities of the country for pharmaceutical expenditure.
