Mayara pointed to the gains that were achieved within the framework of the social dialogue with the government for the benefit of the working class and employees, expressing his union’s pride in the gain of a thousand dirham increase in wages, approving the reduction in the value of the income tax, exempting those whose income is less than 6 thousand dirhams per month from it, and raising the limit. The minimum wage in the private sector is 10 percent.

The National Secretary of the General Union of Workers in Morocco confirmed that these achievements will make Morocco the first country in Africa in terms of the value of the minimum wage, and will also bring it closer to the minimum wage in some European countries, such as Portugal, pointing out that the percentage achieved for the increase in the minimum wage will reach 20%. percent during the five years of the current government’s life.

The same union official stressed that “the government did not buy the unions,” and that the gains that were achieved were agreed upon with it two years ago through productive social dialogue, and thanks to the struggles of his union and the presence of the Istiqlal Party within the government, stating that the latter fulfilled its obligations towards the unions despite the circumstances.
