The Second Guarantee Court of Santiago decided this Saturday to extend the detention against the 17-year-old Venezuelan detained for the kidnapping and murder of former Venezuelan military officer Ronald Ojeda, Radio Biobio reported.
As confirmed by the Team against Organized Crime and Homicide (ECOH) of the Public Ministry, the court made the decision “in response to pending proceedings.”
For this reason, it was determined that the formalization hearing will be held next Monday, March 4, where the accused will be charged with the crime of kidnapping resulting in homicide.

According to prosecutor Héctor Barros, “today what we have done is control the legality of the detention of the 17-year-old defendant who was detained yesterday for his participation in the kidnapping of the victim Ronald Ojeda and we request the expansion, basically by some leaders that are pending, expressly what is the performance of the autopsy of the victim’s body, since the cause of death that we have established up to this moment requires to be ratified through this expertise.”
After being consulted about the efforts of the victim’s relatives to see the body, he pointed out “what is obviously done is first to carry out the corresponding tests in order to avoid any alteration that may occur in the body.”
He reiterated that the Prosecutor’s Office is in contact with the relatives of the deceased “from the day the events occurred, adopting protection and security measures with respect to them, but also the necessary containment, and the procedure that follows when he leaves was explained to them.” to perform the autopsy and therefore they are informed to this day of everything that had been done.”
Prosecutor Barros also indicated that “we held a reserved hearing, precisely because we still have a series of pending proceedings and therefore next Monday, the 4th, at approximately 11:00 a.m., the hearing to formalize this will be held. accused.”
He added that there are three arrest warrants issued for the purpose of achieving the arrest of other participants, and regarding the participation, the accused stressed that he is “detained and amplified as the perpetrator in the crime of kidnapping for homicide.”
“We continue to carry out a series of other procedures aimed at establishing the participation of other subjects, since only three personally participate in the kidnapping, but there are also others covering and participating in other events that basically have to do with the transfer of the victim. to other places,” he said.
