The voluntary organization Quantum Foundation has stood by the needy people by providing 1.6 lakh units of blood and blood components in the last two years. Since the establishment of the lab in 2000 till March this year, the organization has supplied a total of 16 lakh 5 thousand 763 units of blood and blood components in 24 years.
The organization gave this information at a function organized at the IDEB Auditorium in the capital on Tuesday (April 30) evening. Quantum Foundation organized this event to honor the voluntary blood donors. Chittagong Hill Tracts Minister of State Kujendra Lal Tripura was the chief guest.
In the event, the state minister said that donating blood is the best thing to do to save people’s lives. Only when human qualities are awakened in a person can he do such a noble deed like donating blood. Blood donors have human qualities.
He also said that since there is no substitute for blood, blood donors are doing this great work out of a sense of social responsibility. It is not important to them who is giving the blood. Blood donation is a big thing for these self-sacrificing people.
The number of voluntary blood donors of Quantum is more than 5 lakh, both regular and irregular. The negotiators expressed gratitude to all the voluntary blood donors on behalf of Quantum Lab for serving 1.6 million units of blood in two years. At the same time, more than three hundred voluntary blood donors who have become members of Life Long by donating blood at least 3 times, Silver by 10 times, Golden by 25 times and Platinum by donating blood by 50 times are awarded. To motivate the voluntary blood donors, the chief guest handed over certificates, crests and medals to them.
Nahar Al Bokhari, Chief Coordinator of Quantum Foundation Voluntary Blood Donation Program presided over the event. Voluntary Blood Donation Program Quantum Foundation Director (Motivation) M Rezaul Hasan delivered the welcome address. Apart from expressing gratitude to the voluntary blood donors, the negotiators urged the young voluntary blood donors to come forward in this humanitarian service to fully meet the blood demand in the country.
