According to the report of the Committee for Management of State Capital at Enterprises, the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway phase 1 was put into operation on June 30, 2016 with a total length of 55km, of which the Ho Chi Minh City – Dau Giay segment was put into operation. Long Thanh is nearly 26km long.
Since being put into operation, the number of vehicles participating in this highway section has continuously increased. It is expected that by 2025 it will exceed 25% of the traffic capacity with the existing 4 lanes, causing frequent congestion.
