Before, PLO reported that the authorities are temporarily closing the road leading to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway to regulate and separate traffic because of an accident on the expressway.
At about 11 a.m., traffic congestion stretched for dozens of kilometers on the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway before the Phan Thiet – Dau Giay highway intersection.

At about 12 o’clock, the congestion still did not subside, the long queue of vehicles stretched about 15 km in the South-North direction before the Ma Lam intersection.

Traffic police are regulating at Phan Thiet intersection. Temporarily, all vehicles traveling on the highway must change routes, leave the highway, and head to National Highway 1 to reduce pressure on the Phan Thiet-Ma Lam section.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, who travels on the highway, said that at 8 a.m. he started from the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway to return to his hometown (Ninh Thuan). However, due to a collision on the highway, a large number of vehicles were stuck on the highway, with some sections stuck for dozens of kilometers.

Many Eastern gateway routes “have no way out”
As noted by PLO, many neighboring roads such as Mai Chi Tho street and Luong Dinh Cua street also had congestion lasting many kilometers. Container trucks, trucks, and passenger cars lined up in long lines, one after another at the congestion point. Many people try to squeeze into gaps and climb onto sidewalks to move.

According to the Road Traffic Infrastructure Center, Mai Chi Tho street, the section from Dong Van Cong intersection towards the City Expressway. HCM – Long Thanh – Dau Giay has high traffic density, crowded vehicles, difficult transportation. Currently, the Center has posted a warning message. The city’s traffic police were present and actively regulated traffic.
Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Ferry Management Enterprise (Cat Lai ferry management unit) said that currently the number of vehicles is still continuing to flow towards Cat Lai ferry due to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Expressway area. Thanh – Dau Giay is temporarily closed, vehicles are not allowed on the highway.
