At about 12 o’clock, the congestion still did not subside, the long queue of vehicles stretched about 15 km in the South-North direction before the Ma Lam intersection.

Traffic police are regulating at Phan Thiet intersection. Temporarily, all vehicles traveling on the highway must change routes, leave the highway, and head to National Highway 1 to reduce pressure on the Phan Thiet-Ma Lam section.

Mr. Nguyen Duc Hien, who travels on the highway, said that at 8 a.m. he started from the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay highway to return to his hometown (Ninh Thuan). However, due to a collision on the highway, a large number of vehicles were stuck on the highway, with some sections stuck for dozens of kilometers.

Many Eastern gateway routes “have no way out”

As noted by PLO, many neighboring roads such as Mai Chi Tho street and Luong Dinh Cua street also had congestion lasting many kilometers. Representative of Ho Chi Minh City Youth Volunteer Ferry Management Enterprise (Cat Lai ferry management unit) said that currently the number of vehicles is still continuing to flow towards Cat Lai ferry due to the Ho Chi Minh City – Long Expressway area.
