“Today, phase II repayment of Hajj fees for regular pilgrims is closed. A total of 194,744 regular pilgrims have paid,” said Director of Domestic Hajj Services at the Ministry of Religion, Saiful Mujab, in Jakarta, Tuesday (26/3/2024).
According to Saiful Mujab, the number of pilgrims who paid off consisted of 192,874 regular pilgrims, 1,484 Regional Hajj Officers (PHD), and 386 Hajj and Umrah Guidance Groups (KBIHU).
This year’s quota for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims is 221,000. Apart from that, Indonesia received an additional 20,000 quota. The total quota is 241,000, consisting of 213,320 regular Hajj pilgrims and 27,680 special Hajj pilgrims. “This means that there is still remaining quota,” said Saiful Mujab.
Saiful Mujab added that his party was still considering plans to open an extension of repayment. Currently, the Director General of Hajj and Umrah Organization’s Decree is still being prepared regarding the criteria for pilgrims entitled to pay off the extension stage in full.
“Currently, it is recorded that there are 26,351 pilgrims who have paid but with reserve status. They will fill the quota if by the end of the repayment stage there are still some remaining,” he said.
