“Hraparak” newspaper writes: “The administrative leaders of Tavush marz left the meeting with Nikol Pashinyan in the government yesterday in a state of “dead and not buried”. According to our information, a tense discussion took place between the parties. In addition to the fact that Pashinyan resorted to traditional blackmail and threatened Tavush residents with war, saying that if the border demarcation process does not take place, Azerbaijan will start a war against Armenia.
We were told that he did not even give guarantees when they asked to say whether the Azerbaijanis, settling next to our settlements, will not demand more in the future, will not try to come forward. They asked if he gives such a guarantee that he will not submit new demands again, because “appetite opens up while eating”. Nikol Pashinyan coolly admitted that he cannot give such guarantees, and if the events develop in that scenario, then we should buy time, making it clear that he wants to avoid war by all means and does not know what its real price is.
As it is known, a few days ago, with Pashinyan’s signature, a decision was made to create 2 working groups attached to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation commission, which includes not only representatives of Pashinyan’s docile forces, the godfather, Tavush governor Hayk Ghalumyan, but also the settlements of Noyemberyan community, Voskepar, Berkaber, Kirants. the administrative heads who were invited to the government yesterday for a discussion with Mher Grigoryan, the head of the Armenian branch of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border demarcation commission. The administrative heads of the mentioned communities also visited the government, as well as the deputy mayor of Noyemberyan, Mher Aghamyan, because the mayor is in the USA. After the meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, a meeting with Nikol Pashinyan was also organized, which, as we mentioned, took place in a tense atmosphere.
The meeting was also attended by Mher Grigoryan, Suren Papikyan, Director of the National Security Service, Minister of Internal Affairs. The heads of the communities proposed to carry out a complete demarcation of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, based on the principle of proportionality, as a result of which the Azerbaijanis would leave the Armenian territories, which they occupied at different times. In other words, ours is ours, theirs is theirs, but Pashinyan said that there is no such possibility at the moment, it is not an acceptable option for Azerbaijan.
“After the meeting with Pashinyan, we realized that there is a danger for us,” said the deputy mayor of Noyemberyan, not wanting to elaborate further. “We considered it unilateral concessions and we will no longer participate in those negotiations, in that process,” he added.
It should be noted that the administrative leaders decided not to participate in the work of the working group from now on. Yesterday, the Noyemberyan community administration also issued a statement, stating that border demarcation works between Armenia and Azerbaijan in the territory of Baghanis, Voskepar villages of Noyemberyan community contain extremely dangerous risks.
The announcement also states: “Particularly, the presence of the new border makes the most important parts of the community’s territory vulnerable, which will pose a significant threat to the community’s population. We support the establishment of peace, but this demarcation process is actually a one-sided concession by Armenia, in the event that the Azerbaijani military continues to keep many territories of the Republic of Armenia occupied, including the Tavush region.”
Ishkhan Aghbalyan, the administrative head of Voskepar, assured us that after the meeting with Pashinyan, he has not lost hope and will fight until the end.
