Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev during his official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

It was reported that the one-on-one meeting between the ministers continued in a comprehensive format with the participation of the delegations of both sides:

“At the extensive meeting, the issues arising from the agenda of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), as well as the current situation in the region, were discussed.

Jeyhun Bayramov noted with satisfaction that the historic friendship and brotherly relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan have been further strengthened as a result of the existing mutual trust and political dialogue between the country’s leaders and have been confirmed by the “Declaration on Strategic Partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Kyrgyz Republic”. It was brought to attention that the mutual visit and contacts gave impetus to the development of the existing strategic partnership relations, as well as to the expansion of the contract-legal base.”

It was emphasized that the strategic partnership relations between the two countries have improved and developed further with the work of the Interstate Council between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan, the joint intergovernmental commission on cooperation in economic and humanitarian fields.

Various, including political, economic, trade, investments, transport and communications, tourism, culture, humanitarian, etc. between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. it was noted that the bilateral cooperation in the fields has a multifaceted nature. It was pointed out that there is a wide potential for cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Middle Corridor. It was said that it is important for the two countries to hold cultural days and deepen cooperation in the field of culture and art. They exchanged views on cooperation prospects in the field of green energy production.

In addition, the importance of the development of relations within the framework of regional and international organizations was emphasized. In particular, the existence of broad perspectives of cooperation within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States (TDT), as well as the importance of intensive contacts between the member states of the TDT in order to use the existing potential, was emphasized. In this regard, confidence was expressed that the extraordinary summit of TDT to be held in Shusha in July of this year and the official summit to be held in Bishkek in October will be one of the contacts that will serve the development of the Organization.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov also informed the other side about the COP29 chairmanship of our country, negotiations and preparations, and pointed out that this prestigious event creates new prospects for cooperation.

Speaking about the current situation in the region in the post-conflict period, the restoration, construction, and peace efforts of our country, as well as the calls that threaten regional peace building, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized that unilateral steps and initiatives directed against the opportunities created for peace are unacceptable. Azerbaijan’s commitment to the establishment of peace in the region based on respect for the norms and principles of international law, especially territorial integrity and sovereignty, was once again brought to attention.

It was emphasized that the support of Kyrgyzstan to the peace and construction process is admirable, as well as the high school that will be built in Khidirli village of Agdam on the initiative of the Kyrgyz Republic is a clear example of this support.
