Vienna (OTS) On March 8th, International Women’s Day is celebrated all over the world – including in the Cineplexx cinemas in Austria. On the occasion of the International Women’s Day special “Ladies Night”, cineastes have the opportunity to see three specially selected films at the special price of 8 euros* in the Cineplexx cinemas. The films – “Andrea is getting divorced”, “The Braid” and “Tomorrow is Another Day” – have one thing in common: the main roles are played by strong women who want to take their lives into their own hands and change something.

A woman in an unhappy marriage, three women plagued by strokes of fate and a woman affected by domestic violence: the female leads in the films “Andrea is getting divorced”, “The Braid” and “Tomorrow is Another Day” do not have an easy life. The reasons for this couldn’t be more different, but what unites them is their great strength and their courage to keep going and not to let themselves be defeated under any circumstances. These three power women films can be seen on March 8th for just 8 euros* each at the “Ladies Night” in Cineplexx cinemas throughout Austria.

“The selected films impressively illustrate the commitment of strong women to equality and self-determination in a wide variety of situations. On International Women’s Day, it is particularly important to us to bring these strong stories to the fore and to offer these great women a big stage. At the same time, we want to use the opportunity to express our great appreciation to our employees and visitors,” says Florian Vorraber, Head of Marketing at Cineplexx.

Female power on the big screen

In “Andrea Gets a Divorce,” a policewoman wants to end her unhappy marriage. But after a birthday party, her husband runs drunk in front of her car and the covering of tracks can begin in a place where everyone knows each other. In “The Braid,” three strong women with different lives and from different continents share difficult blows of fate and have to face great challenges with a lot of courage that couldn’t be more different. The leading actress in “Tomorrow is Another Day” pursues her two roles as wife and mother with passion and commitment. Nevertheless, physical and psychological violence from her husband is part of her everyday life. One day she doesn’t want to put up with this any longer.
