IPL 2024: CSK gave a target of 163 runs to Punjab Kings, Chahar and Harpreet showed amazing bowling.

Chennai : The spin of Rahul Chahar and Harpreet Brar limited the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batsmen as the hosts could reach a moderate score of 162/7 against Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium. (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) match on Wednesday. Both Har and Harpreet took two wickets each. CSK batsmen, who came to bat first, failed to score runs in the beginning. However, the openers made a good comeback and Ruturaj Gaikwad took 10 runs by hitting a four on the third ball of Arshdeep Singh’s over.

Openers Ajinkya Rahane and Gaikwad dismissed Arshdeep for 14 runs, while PBKS stand-in captain Sam Curran was dismissed for 18 runs with the help of four fours. CSK ended the powerplay at 55/0. In the 9th over, Harpreet Brar gave two big blows to CSK by dismissing Rahane and Shivam Dubey for just 3 runs. CSK’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was dismissed by Rahul Chahar for just two runs. Harshal Patel started with five wides in the 15th over and he bowled a dreadful ball down the leg side which also escaped for four runs.

In the 16th over, Rabada dismissed Sameer Rizvi for 21 runs. CSK captain Ruturaj Gaikwad completed his half-century by hitting a six in 44 balls and scored 20 runs. After being dismissed for six and four, Arshdeep Singh dismissed Gaikwad for 62 runs. Chahar dismissed Moeen Ali for 15 runs in the 19th over. The Chennai crowd welcomed their favorite player MS Dhoni with loud slogans as the great wicketkeeper-batsman came out and hit a four and a six over extra cover, taking CSK’s total to 162/7 in 20 overs.
