A delegation from the Bahrain Olympic Committee’s Equal Opportunities Committee for Genders participates in the Gulf Women’s Sports Hackathon, which is being held in the Omani capital, Muscat, from March 1 to 4.

The delegation included Ms. Salama Ateeq, Wafa Ibrahim Al-Jazzaf, Nouf Hayel Al-Qahtani (Equal Opportunities Committee for Genders of the Olympic Committee), and Dana Abdul Latif Abdul Khaleq (Equal Opportunities Committee of the Bahrain Football Association).

The hackathon topics included promoting community sports for women, the role of technology in promoting Gulf women’s sports, sports employment and investment opportunities, and sports initiatives and programs.

The delegation of the Kingdom of Bahrain put forward many ideas represented in discovering, nurturing and developing young players of both sexes (discovery, care, development), benefiting from artificial intelligence technology in selecting sports talents, working on implementing a Gulf league, implementing sports professionalism for female players in all games, and developing a classification. For them to play the game as a profession to achieve financial returns.

The Bahraini delegation also discussed the importance of developing unified programs and projects in developing Gulf women’s sports and creating a Gulf program to select sports talents.

After the end of the hackathon, in which many ideas were presented, the winning idea will be chosen later.
