His Excellency Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps and Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Kingdom, chaired the meeting of the Council of Arab Ambassadors accredited to the United Kingdom, with His Excellency Mr. Sadiq Khan, Mayor of the City of London.
His Excellency the Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, welcomed His Excellency Mr. Sadiq Khan and his accompanying delegation, appreciating their constructive cooperation and continued contributions to various development projects and the prominent and encouraging steps in overcoming challenges in the tourism and investment sector for citizens of sisterly Arab countries in the British capital, London.
During the meeting, ways of consolidating Arab-British relations and anticipated projects and programs that the two sides look forward to working together in response to the aspirations of the Arab peoples and Arab embassies accredited to the United Kingdom were also discussed.
During the meeting, ways to enhance the security and safety of Arab tourists were reviewed, in addition to future plans undertaken by the Mayor of London’s office to promote tourism and investment in various regions of the British capital.
After the meeting, His Excellency Sheikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Dean of the Arab Diplomatic Corps, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain, hosted His Excellency the Mayor of the City of London at a luncheon, during which the latest developments in local British affairs and the upcoming elections for the position of Mayor of the City of London were discussed, in addition to the Arab and foreign movements that the capital is witnessing. In favor of the Palestinian cause, stressing the need to stop war and escalation and avoid violence in order to avoid human casualties, ensure the safety of civilians, and ensure the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid, including food, fuel, and medical equipment, in order to achieve peace and stability in the region.
In conclusion, the Council stressed the importance of continuing communication with the Mayor of London and concerted efforts to reach the best solutions and practices that benefit the peoples of all friendly countries.
