Forbes website revealed that the new sneakers launched by former US President Donald Trump achieved early success when they were put up for sale.
The website said that the Trump Shoes sold out within just two hours of their sale being announced on the official website of the new commercial company.
Trump had indicated that the new sneaker line would be an attempt to reach younger supporters.
The line, called “Trump Shoes,” offers 3 types of shoes that come with the slogan “Never Give Up” and the letter “T,” and the price of a pair is $399.
The “Forbes” website said that only 1,000 pairs of shoes were offered, and they were all sold out in “the first two hours.”
“I’ve wanted to do this for a long time,” Trump said while announcing his shoe line in Philadelphia. “I have some great people who work with me on things like this and they came up with this shoe that I think will be a huge success,” according to NBC. News.
Trump’s announcement of his shoe line came after a New York judge ruled on Friday that he must pay $354.9 million as punishment for fraudulently overstating his net worth to deceive lenders.
Judge Arthur Engoron, in a sharply worded decision issued after a controversial three-month trial in Manhattan, also banned Trump, who is running for the Republican presidential nomination this year, from working as an officer or director of any company in New York for three years.
Engoron rescinded his previous ruling from last September that ordered the “dissolution” of companies controlling pillars of Trump’s real estate empire, saying on Friday that was no longer necessary because he was appointing an independent monitor and director monitoring Trump’s business compliance.
