If the teachers knew, they wouldn’t let me play football anymore or I would be kicked out of the academy. Therefore, I decided to hide it.
Usually when I fall into that state during practice, I will ask to go to the bathroom. Many days I go to the bathroom and lie down on the floor. Sometimes the heart rate drops, sometimes it doesn’t decrease, and I have to maintain that until the end of the workout,” Xuan Truong recounted.
Luong Xuan Truong affirmed that his heart problem was only resolved when this player had the opportunity to go abroad and play for Incheon United club in K.League 1 in the 2016 season.
“Coming to Incheon, my heart problem appeared again. One day, during a training session with team B, I continued to have this condition and lay down on the field. When people asked about me, I lied and said I had a problem. Stomach problems caused by eating.
However, when lying on the field like that and the situation still did not improve, I decided to take the risk and confess the truth to the team’s medical technician. Fortunately, the technician understood my condition so he immediately asked the team’s main doctor for permission to take me to the hospital.
Doctors at a hospital in South Korea discovered the problem. I had to have laparoscopic surgery to completely treat it. At that time, I had the company of my representative. He was by my side 24/7. Fortunately, after treatment, it only took me 2 weeks to recover my health to return to training and competing normally,” Xuan Truong said.
