Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Mahmudul Hasan has resigned from the post of Assistant Proctor of Comilla University (Kubi). Proctor (Acting) Qazi Omar Siddiqui resigned after making various allegations of arbitrariness.
Sunday (February 18) Registrar (Acting) Md. The assistant proctor submitted this resignation letter to Amirul Haque Chowdhury.
In his resignation letter, he said, ‘For your information, I am resigning from the post of Mahmudul Hasan Assistant Proctor in protest against the arbitrariness, administrative misconduct, individualism and unfair treatment of teachers by the Comilla University administration. Duties of Assistant Proctor, Assisting the Proctor in maintaining the discipline of the University. But while the proctor himself is taking care of the overall environment and discipline of the university, retaining the post of assistant proctor is contrary to my morals and ideals as a teacher. Due to this I voluntarily resign from the post of Assistant Proctor. Also, I pledge to work relentlessly for the overall development of Comilla University and the welfare of teachers and students in the future. Therefore, I request you to take necessary action in the above context.’
About the complaint, University Proctor (Acting) Kazi Omar Siddiqui said, ‘He can give his statement. I have nothing to say here. It would have been better if he had been clear rather than vague. Anyone can tell vaguely.’
Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. AFM Abdul Moin said, ‘If someone wants to tell something, they should tell me specifically without referring to the number of people.’
Earlier on February 6, the provost of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Hall of the university resigned due to mismanagement of the administration and personal reasons. Apart from this, Assistant Professor of Mass Communication and Journalism Department Mahbubul Haque Bhuiyan has resigned from the post of media adviser of the university citing eight reasons including irregularities in the appointment of teachers on February 7.
