Salaries received by military personnel who protect the diplomatic missions and consulates of the Republic of Azerbaijan operating in foreign countries and international organizations are exempted from social insurance and income tax.
Publika.az reports that this was reflected in the draft law on amending the Tax Code.
Thus, it was deemed necessary to amend the mentioned normative legal acts in order to ensure that the representatives of the State Security Service (SST) of the Republic of Azerbaijan, who serve in a special type of public service in the countries where they are assigned, along with the employees of the diplomatic service bodies, in foreign countries and international organizations can also use those benefits. .
The project was approved by Cabinet of Ministers decision No. 219 dated June 25, 2023 for the representatives of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan in foreign countries and international organizations. provides for the exemption of all types of payments (except the state salary) from the mandatory state social insurance fee and income tax.
