The Vice President Prays for the U-23 Indonesian National Team to Advance to the Asian Cup Final

JAKARTA – Vice President (Wapres) Ma’ruf Amin pray for the Indonesian U-23 National Team (Timnas) to advance to the Asian Cup final in Qatar. In the semifinals, Indonesia will certainly face Uzbekistan, who managed to get rid of Saudi Arabia.

“We just pray, God willing, hopefully in the semifinals, our Garuda Muda will emerge as winners and will compete in the final,” said the Vice President in his statement, quoted on Saturday (27/4/2024).

Moreover, said the Vice President, currently the Indonesian National Team has a winning mentality, which is reflected in their wins in the last three matches, namely against Australia, Jordan and South Korea.

“I have high hopes, because winning three times, I think also gives enthusiasm, high motivation, (and) confidence in winning. So we hope that now (the Indonesian National Team) apart from having a pretty good game, they also have a winning mentality, ” he stressed.

Therefore, the Vice President hopes that coach Shin Tae Yong’s children will consistently maintain their performance and quality of play in the semifinals, whether against Saudi Arabia or Uzbekistan.

“It is true that in the past we were always defeated by the Saudi Team (for example). But once again, if we play like yesterday, continue to maintain it, it is not impossible (to win),” he concluded.
