Peshawar Zalmi defeated Multan Sultans for the second time in this PSL thanks to the aggressive batting of Babar Azam and Saeem Ayub and then the brilliant bowling of young bowler Mehran Mumtaz in the powerplay.
Multan Sultans have lost only to Peshawar Zalmi in PSL Nine so far. But this loss will not affect them as they have already qualified for the play-off stage.
After the aggressive batting of Babar Azam and Saeem Ayub by Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans came very close to victory thanks to the partnership of Iftikhar Ahmed and Chris Jordan in chasing the target of 205 runs but could not succeed.
Iftikhar Ahmed scored his half-century off 24 balls. His innings of 60 runs included five sixes and four fours. Chris Jordan also played well with him and scored 30 runs off 12 balls which included two sixes and three fours.
They both scored 75 runs off 30 balls in the sixth wicket partnership.
