Benghazi, December 13, 2023 (Al-Anbaa Al-Libya) – The “Sheikh Al-Shuhada Equestrian Show Jumping Championship” was launched today in the city of Benghazi, sponsored by the “Omar Al-Mukhtar” Show Jumping Club, with wide participation from all riders, of all ages.
Today witnessed a strong competition between the riders to win the advanced rankings and be nominated for the finals. The Libyan newspaper Al-Anbaa followed the tournament, where the head of the Equestrian Sub-Federation in the Eastern Region, Fahd Youssef Al-Bailah, said: We meet today as one hand, and the word Libya brings us together in this sports forum, with the participation of More than (250) knights, from (31) clubs, from various cities and regions of Libya, where the city of Benghazi participated with (18) clubs, while Tripoli (25) clubs, Misurata (three) clubs, and Zuwara (two clubs) and Sorman also participated. Al-Bellah continued, “Through this tournament, we want to show the International Equestrian Federation that Libya is capable of being among the first countries to host any international forum, and that it has the ability to prepare and receive, while returning the sport of our fathers and grandfathers to the honorable forefront.” Regarding the tournament program, he explained that it will be over (four) consecutive days, the first and second days for the four categories under the General Federation, while the third day will be open for participation and under the supervision of the club, and the conclusion of the tournament will be for the final qualifiers and nominations for the knights.
Al-Bailah concluded by offering his thanks to everyone who provided support in making the tournament appear well. On the other hand, one of the horsemen participating in this tournament, “Fouad Ahmed Al-Mujabri,” born in 2006, stated that he joined this game in 2019. He is a horseman from the “Fayd Benghazi” Equestrian School, obtaining There will be (10) tournaments, including (9) local and one international in 2023, which is the “Zwara Al-Salam” tournament.
