American golfer Nelly Kordova won the major Chevron Championship in Houston, tying the LPGA circuit record with her fifth consecutive victory. The world number one will be able to overcome him next week at the tournament in Los Angeles.
Twenty-five-year-old Kordová won by two shots ahead of Maia Starková from Sweden. In addition, the weather complicated the tournament for the golfers, so they had to play 25 holes on the last day due to Saturday’s postponement.
The daughter of former Czech tennis player Petr Korda, representing the USA, claimed the second major success of her career. For the first time, the elite category dominated the tournament in 2021 at the Women’s PGA Championship.
