“Good things come to those who wait,” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said as he received Sweden’s accession documents from the Swedish prime minister, according to Reuters.
THE Anthony Blinken said that “everything changed” after its full invasion of Russia in Ukraineciting polls that show huge change in Swedish public opinion about joining the NATO.

For nato, its accessions Sweden and her Finland -which they share 1,340 km border with Russia- they are the most significant additions in decades. It is also a blow to the Russian president Vladimir Putinwho tried to prevent any further strengthening of the alliance.
“Today is a truly historic day. Sweden is now a member of NATO,” Kristersson said. “We will defend freedom together with our closest countries – both in terms of geography, culture and values,” added the Swedish prime minister.
