“Good things come to those who wait,” US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said as he received Sweden’s accession documents from the Swedish prime minister, according to Reuters.

For nato, its accessions Sweden and her Finland -which they share 1,340 km border with Russia- they are the most significant additions in decades. It is also a blow to the Russian president Vladimir Putinwho tried to prevent any further strengthening of the alliance.
