Russia and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are in direct conflict. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this on Thursday (April 4) on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the US-led alliance. British news agency Reuters reported this news.
Dmitry Peskov told reporters that relations between Russia and NATO have now reached the level of direct conflict.
He also said that NATO is involved in the conflict around Ukraine. They are moving towards our border. Not only that, this alliance is expanding military infrastructure.
NATO’s continued eastward expansion has become a headache for Russian President Vladimir Putin. Putin launched the war in Ukraine two years ago to prevent this alliance.
This war further accelerated NATO. As a result it has expanded to Finland and Sweden.
Putin has repeatedly said that the West has cheated Russia after the Cold War. Because they broke the Warsaw Pact alliance with Moscow. But NATO has advanced to the east. They advanced with the three Baltic states that were former treaty members and part of the Soviet Union.
