The Government of Pakistan ordered this Wednesday the return to Islamabad of its ambassador in Tehran, at the same time that it announced the suspension of all high-level visits with Iran, in response to Tuesday’s bombing by Iranian forces on Pakistani territory.

“This illegal act is completely unacceptable and has no justification (…) We have informed Iran that Pakistan has decided to recall our ambassador to Iran,” said Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mumtaz Zahrah Baloch in a statement read to the media.

According to this, the Iranian ambassador to Pakistan, who is currently visiting Iran, “should not return for the time being” to Islamabad.

Pakistani diplomacy also assured that by its own decision, “all high-level visits that were ongoing or planned between Pakistan and Iran in the coming days” have been suspended.

Two dead children

Pakistan is thus responding to the missile and drone bombings against targets of the Sunni terrorist group Yeish al Adl on Pakistani soil, carried out yesterday, apparently without authorization from the Pakistani side.

“Last night’s flagrant and unprovoked violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty by Iran is a violation of international law and the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations,” the spokesperson said.

Pakistan also warned that it will reserve the right to respond reciprocally to this attack.

The Pakistani Government said this morning that at least two boys were killed and three other girls were injured as a result of these attacks.

“This violation of Pakistan’s sovereignty is completely unacceptable and can have serious consequences,” he added.

Iran stresses good relationship with Pakistan

Pakistan’s relations with Iran have not been particularly cordial in recent years, with a lack of trust evident due to cross-border attacks by Pakistani insurgents that Islamabad fails to address.

However, Iranian authorities today underlined good relations with Pakistan, amid bombings against the terrorist group’s targets on Pakistani soil, an attack that Islamabad described as “unprovoked rape.”

In fact, the attack occurred on the same day that Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hosein Amir Abdolahian, met with Pakistan’s interim Prime Minister, Anwarul Haq Kakar, in Davos; The Navies of the two countries carried out joint maneuvers and an exhibition on exports to the neighboring country was inaugurated on Iranian soil.

The Yeish al Adl group confirms the attacks

In addition to the attacks on Pakistani soil, Iran yesterday attacked Islamic State targets in Syria and alleged Israeli bases in Iraq, in retaliation for the Kerman and Rask attacks that caused the death of more than one hundred people in the Persian country.

The terrorist group Yeish al Adl, which according to Tehran receives support from Israel, claimed responsibility for one of those attacks, the one carried out in the Iranian city of Rask, in which 11 police officers died.

This Wednesday, it confirmed that its facilities on Pakistani soil have been subject to bombing with missiles and drones by the Iranian Armed Forces.

According to the version of this Sunni group, the Iranian Revolutionary Guard attacked with “six suicide drones and several missiles the houses where the children and wives of the members of the organization live” in the mountains of Balochistan and destroyed two homes.

“In this criminal attack, two children died and two women and a teenage girl were injured,” the group said.

Yeish al Adl is a Sunni group opposed to the Shiite regime of Iran that seeks the independence of the province of Sistan Balochistan and operates on the porous border between Iran and Pakistan.

According to its statement, the Iranian attacks “strengthen the determination” of the organization to dethrone the Government of Tehran from “its palace of oppression.” With EFE
