New information has emerged regarding the scandalous rape case of Dani Alves, the former defender of “Barcelona”.
Publika.az reports that the Brazilian’s lawyer, Ines Guardiola, for the first time presented to the investigation the version that the football player was drunk on the night of the crime and that it affected his thinking ability. If the court finds him guilty, Alvesh’s sentence may be reduced. The lawyer claims that the defender was unaware of his actions.
The version of drunkenness was the fifth in a row presented by the player’s side to the investigation. After his arrest, he claimed that he did not know the victim. Later, he said that he met a young girl in the toilet of the night club and that there was nothing between them. The judge compared her explanations with the biological evidence and said that the girl herself consented to oral sex.
It should be recalled that Alves was accused of raping a girl in a Barcelona nightclub in December 2022 and was arrested in January 2023. Earlier, the media reported that the prosecutors demanded a 9-year prison sentence for the Brazilian. In turn, the victim’s lawyer will ask for 12 years in prison for Dani – this is the maximum penalty for rape in Spain.
