President Volodymyr Zelensky said that any initiative by world leaders to strengthen Ukraine will benefit the entire world.
According to Ukrainska Pravda, President Zelensky’s comments came after French President Emmanuel Macron on February 26 first mentioned the possibility of the West deploying troops to support Ukraine in its conflict with Russia. However, Mr. Macron emphasized that Western countries currently do not have a consensus on this issue.

Speaking at the press conference after the Ukraine – Southeast Europe Summit on February 28, Mr. Zelensky said “I was not present at the conference where President Macron proposed the above idea, but he said that when he was present in Ukraine, he will discuss new ideas to strengthen Ukraine and share information. The date is around mid-March. Any global initiative to strengthen Ukraine benefits the entire world. world”.
Also according to Mr. Zelensky, he had a good meeting with President Macron, and the two sides discussed many initiatives to strengthen Ukraine during the conflict with Russia. He emphasized that the main basic initiative today is that partners must implement agreements on timely supply of weapons to Ukraine.
“We need to survive, and Ukraine’s survival requires very specific solutions. This is very important. That’s why I cannot share with you, for example, information about the number artillery, number of 155mm bullets. All support that we have agreed and contracted must be deployed on time,” the Ukrainian leader said.
Meanwhile, on February 27, the US and Germany, UK, Spain, Poland and the Czech Republic said there were no plans to send troops to Ukraine, after President Macron mentioned this possibility. Afterwards, the Kremlin also warned of the risk of direct conflict between Russia and the West, if NATO and the EU intended to send troops to Ukraine.
