A 32-year-old motorcyclist died in a traffic accident in Steendorp on Monday afternoon. He drove into the side of a car. The driver probably did not see the motorcycle coming due to the low sun.
The accident happened around 4:30 PM at the intersection of Nieuwe Baan and Temsestraat. A motorcyclist coming from the direction of Steendorp crashed into the side of a car coming from Temsestraat and turning towards Temse. The blow was enormous. The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man from Kruibeke, did not survive the blow. The driver was probably blinded by the low sun and did not see the motorcycle. (Read more below the photo)
Due to the accident, traffic on Nieuwe Baan has been closed in both directions. Traffic coming from Temsestraat must also turn around. The police confirm that the public prosecutor’s office has been informed to conduct further investigation.(PVS)
