32 Battalion BSF arrested two Bangladeshi passengers after searching India-Bangladesh friendship train at Gede station in Indian border area. A huge amount of foreign currency was recovered from them.

Bangladesh-bound Maitri Express (train number 13108) arrived at Gede station on Wednesday (April 24) morning.

Based on information, the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) searched the luggage of two Bangladeshi nationals. The two Bangladeshis admitted to the misdeeds without questioning.

BSF said that a lot of foreign currency was recovered from two persons in that train. 81 lakh 52 thousand 854 Rs. They also had Bangladeshi money.

One of the two arrested persons is Shankar Kumar Dutta. His home is Gopalpur, Manikganj, Bangladesh. Another is Waleed Mehndi Russell. His home is Chandpur Ukilpara in Bangladesh.

BSF also said that 54 thousand 852 rupees were recovered from Walid Mehndi Russell and 2 thousand 740 rupees were recovered from Shankar Kumar Dutt.

Those two have been sent to Krishnanagar District Court. BSF has intensified vigilance in Gede, focusing on recovery of gold and money across the border.
