Depeche Mode’s February concerts, which will take place on February 22 and 24 in Vysočany’s O2 arena, are accompanied by a rich fan program, which includes a warm up party at Futurum Music Bar on Friday, February 23 from 8 p.m., a fan meeting a day later from 3 p.m. o’clock on Křížovnické náměstí followed by a joint photo shoot on the Charles Bridge and an evening after party at the Roxy club from 11 p.m.

The accompanying events are collectively called Prague Depeche Mode Weekender 2024 and follow on from the holiday Weekender from 2023, which was attended by thousands of Depeche Mode fans from all over Europe. The cheapest tickets to Futura and Roxy can be purchased in the GoOut network.

“The actual idea of the Weekender came about in 2023 in connection with Depeche Mode’s summer performance. We managed to fill up the Roxy club in Prague for two evenings, and a joint photo shoot of the fans on the Old Town Square had a huge international response,” explained the organizer of accompanying events and a big Depeche Mode fan, Filip Macháček.
“For me personally, the driving force is the scene itself, the community that has shaped me since the eighties. And, of course, the band for which I’ve been traveling the world for 31 years,” added the main organizer.

The idea of taking photos on the Charles Bridge and its surroundings arose in connection with the photos of the band by Anton Corbijn for the book Strangers, which were taken in the autumn of 1988 on the Charles Bridge and its surroundings. “The actual meeting for the event is February 24, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. on Křížovnické náměstí. Taking photos together in such locations and on such a scale is an internationally unique fan effort that has no parallels and is the added value of the Weekender,” added Filip Macháček, the biggest Czech fan of Depeche Mode.

After five years, the musical giants presented themselves as only two at the airport in Prague’s Letňany, where they performed their biggest show. Now, on the same tour called the Memento Mori Tour, he will support his fifteenth studio album Memento Mori, which was released in the spring of last year.

Even before the album was released, the members talked about it like this: “We started working on this project at the beginning of the pandemic, and its themes were directly inspired by this time. After Fletch’s death, we decided to continue because we’re sure he would have wanted it, and it really added meaning to the project.” Dave Gahan added: “Fletch would have loved this album. We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon and can’t wait to introduce it to you at concerts next year.”
