Constitutional Court decides in the interests of transparency – Blue Chat Swamp shows the need for a comprehensive investigation
Vienna (OTS) – “The investigation of the red-blue abuse of power in the investigative committee set up by the People’s Party has been ensured. The red-blue attempts to turn off this investigation have failed, as expected. The Constitutional Court confirmed this today,” emphasizes National Council member Andreas Hanger, ÖVP parliamentary group leader in the investigative committees. This is an important decision that paves the way for transparency for the benefit of taxpayers.
“The transparent maneuver of the red-blue alliance, on the one hand, to examine the government actions of other parties in epic detail, but at the same time to avoid their own responsibility using rules of procedure tricks, has in any case failed,” the People’s Party representative makes clear. The Freedom Party’s chat swamp that recently became known clearly shows the necessary need for clarification. And the Social Democrats must also face the work of the investigative committee in a fact-oriented manner. “We have set up a legitimate and permissible investigative committee, as the Constitutional Court has now confirmed to us. Now it is important to investigate and clarify. And that is what we as a people’s party will do,” concluded Hanger. (Ending)
